Say What? Terms of Use
Effective date: 24 August 2026
These Terms of Use (the Terms) apply to your use of the Say What? mobile application (the App).
The App is provided by Sara-Louise Goode, trading as Sara Goode (we, us or our), based in Wales, United Kingdom. You can contact us at sara@saragoode.com.
By downloading, accessing or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who may use the App
You must be aged 18 or over to use Say What?.
You may use the App only for lawful, personal purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
2. What Say What? does
Say What? helps you reflect on difficult or awkward conversations and generate possible wording. Depending on the situation, the App may provide a reflection, message options, before-sending guidance, safety information or a non-harmful alternative.
The wording generated by the App is a suggestion, not an instruction. You remain responsible for deciding whether, when and how to use or adapt it.
3. Important limitations
Say What? uses artificial intelligence. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, unsuitable or unexpected. You should check any wording carefully before using or sending it.
The App does not provide legal, medical, mental-health, safeguarding, financial or other professional advice. It is not a substitute for advice from a suitably qualified professional.
The App is not an emergency service. If you or another person is in immediate danger, contact the appropriate emergency service. In the UK, call 999 or 112. If speaking would put you at risk and you need the police, call 999 from a mobile and press 55 when prompted.
4. Safety and acceptable use
You must not use the App to:
threaten, intimidate, harass, abuse, exploit or deliberately frighten another person;
create discriminatory, hateful or dehumanising content;
encourage self-harm, violence, criminal activity or other serious harm;
impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity;
infringe another person’s privacy, confidentiality or intellectual-property rights;
interfere with the App, bypass its safeguards or attempt to gain unauthorised access to its systems; or
use the App for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose.
We may refuse to generate certain content, provide a safer alternative, restrict access or suspend use where reasonably necessary to protect people, the App or our legal rights.
5. Free use and allowances
Free users currently receive:
up to three completed billable situations during the first 30 days after first use; and
after that, one completed billable situation in each rolling 30-day period.
A completed billable situation means a successful response that provides substantive communication support. Clarification questions, technical failures, response refinements, immediate-danger responses and harmful-intent safety responses do not use a situation allowance.
Free allowances are promotional access, have no cash value and cannot be transferred. We may change future free allowances on reasonable notice. Any change will not affect rights you have already paid for.
6. Say What? Pro
Say What? Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. The monthly plan currently includes:
50 completed billable situations per calendar month;
up to five successful Completely Unhinged generations per local calendar day; and
response refinements within the same situation without using another situation allowance.
Immediate-danger and harmful-intent safety responses do not use the monthly situation allowance.
Usage allowances may be measured locally on your device and may not synchronise across devices or installations. Completely Unhinged is an entertainment feature labelled as being just for laughs, not for sending.
7. Subscription purchase, renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions are purchased and billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, depending on your device. The price and billing period shown in the App immediately before purchase are the price and period that apply to that purchase.
Your subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it through your app-store account settings before the next renewal. Cancellation stops future renewals; you will normally keep Pro access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. If you reinstall the App or change device, you may need to use Restore Purchases. Restoration depends on the store account used for the original purchase.
Payments, refunds, billing disputes and store-specific cancellation rights are also subject to the terms and processes of Apple or Google. Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any cancellation, refund or other consumer right that the law gives you.
We do not currently offer a free subscription trial. Any future introductory offer will be described before purchase.
8. Changes to subscriptions and the App
We may improve, update, replace or discontinue parts of the App. We may also change allowances or subscription features for future billing periods where reasonably necessary, including for security, legal, technical or commercial reasons.
If a change materially affects an active paid subscription, we will provide any notice or consent process required by law or by the relevant app store. Price changes are handled through the relevant app store and take effect in accordance with its rules.
9. Your content and privacy
You retain any rights you have in the wording you enter into the App. You give us permission to process that wording only as needed to provide, secure and improve the App in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Your wording may be sent to service providers that help generate and deliver the response. The App is designed not to maintain an account-based history of your situations. Please do not enter information you do not have the right to share.
For details about how information is handled, read the Say What? Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual property
The App, its branding, design, prompts, safety systems, written content and software are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by intellectual-property laws.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the App.
You may use, adapt and share an output generated for you for your personal purposes. Because AI systems can generate similar wording for different users, we cannot promise that an output will be unique or that exclusive rights will arise in it.
11. Availability and accounts
We aim to keep the App available and working, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. Availability may be affected by maintenance, internet connectivity, app-store services, AI providers, security incidents or events outside our reasonable control.
The App does not currently require a user account. Some settings, allowances and in-progress content are stored only on the device and may be lost if the App is deleted, its storage is cleared or you change device.
12. Third-party services and links
The App relies on third-party services, including app stores, RevenueCat, Supabase and an AI provider. Their own terms and privacy practices may also apply to their services.
The App may link to external websites, support organisations or coaching information. External services are responsible for their own content and availability. A link does not mean that we control or endorse everything on the linked site.
Any coaching service offered by Sara Goode is separate from the App subscription and is subject to its own agreement, availability, suitability and fees.
13. Our responsibility to you
We provide the App with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these Terms, or for business losses arising from personal use of the App. We are not responsible for decisions you make, messages you send or another person’s response to them merely because the App suggested possible wording.
14. Ending use
You may stop using the App at any time. Deleting the App does not automatically cancel an active subscription; you must cancel through your app-store account settings.
We may suspend or end access where you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, misuse the App, threaten safety or security, or where we are legally required to do so. Where reasonable, we will explain the reason.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the App, law, regulation or our services. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice where a change materially affects your rights.
Continuing to use the App after updated Terms take effect means the updated Terms will apply, but this does not remove rights you already have under law or an existing paid period.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you retain any mandatory protections available where you live and may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable law.
If you have a concern, please contact us first at sara@saragoode.com so we can try to resolve it.
